Its very difficult to deal with an enemy that does not mind dying.
What would be helpful would be the muslim priests excommunicating terrorists and publicly announcing they will not go to their heaven. They are frightened of that. |

I want to tell you, 3dc, how to win the war on terrorism. 9/11 was far worse than London; Madrid was far worse than London; Bali was far worse than London. In London, however, we have been fighting against terrorism for the whole of my lifetime, and many members of my own family have given their lives in defence of my freedom. What we also know, in the words of Sir Winston Churchill, is that revenge is of all satisfactions the most costly. Retributive persecution is of all policies the most pernicious.
We are going to win hearts and minds. Then we shall win the war on terrorism. |

You see in the video that we have been exterminating the terrorists.
Literally.
Just like the vermin they are.
The AC-130 is a c-130 cargo plane modified with all sorts of tracking and electronics and the following weapons all pointed at target:

one L60 40mm Bofors cannon
(100 shots per minute)
one M102 105mm cannon
(6-10 rounds per minute)
When the 105 fires the plane slips sideways about 200 feet.
The video from www.militaryvideos.net shows them killing talaban and AQ starting at 6 miles away with a spotter crew somewhere... They are hunted. Led and killed. Period. |

I look at this as a temporary situation, provided that we actively deal with it, not untirely giving up freedom but protecting it. Nothing can be done without sacrifice.
In the same line of reasoning about equal rights and freedom, you cannot control others if you are not willing to give up some of your own rights, which include not letting children out in the parks alone or at night, not talking to strangers, etc....
By the same token, giving suspicious terrorist and islamic groups and their communities the same rights and freedom, on your own homeland, as you would to your own children is the taking the path to self-destruction. If I have children, I would sacrifice to protect their rights, even if it means destroying the enemy's rights.
Survival has been a very clear choice in human existence!....(Must run now!...) |

There is an important issue here, 3dc and Kay. As all Americans celebrated their independence earlier this week, I wish to remind everyone of what is important:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness... "
As a Londoner, I am not going to give up the 'Liberty' to which the whole of humanity has an unalienable right to aspire. If we use the war on terrorism as an excuse to sacrifice our hard-won personal freedoms, then we will, in a profound sense, have lost it. We continue the fight for freedom in the twenty-first century. We Londoners are therefore not prepared to give up what we hold most dear. |

It's a waste of time to discuss this issue or to give much media attention to terrorists. Whatever their cause is they have lost it. All we need to do now is to support our government to use whatever means to destroy them all, one by one.
I hate them all. The first mid-eastern/muslim looking person I come in contact with will be treated with utmost suspicion and mistrust. It is "their ethnic" problem, and only "they" can provide the solutions. Until they do, their own innocent people should be treated the same, an eye for an eye!....
Whoever tries to make excuses for their cause should go ahead, move to the mid-east, join them and speak up for their cause. I will listen to no one who speaks from the comfort and freedom provided by the Western world.
Shut up or go to the mountains with them all......cowards!... |

After Iraq we need to clean out Canada?
We don't want to need to do things like this in Canada.
