Well Ming that can be argued.
Are you argueing it?
Its always so hard to tell with you Ming isnt it. Why?
Personally it seems to me as likely as say............... sunset. Why would shia, sunni and Kurd "get on" if the coalition left then? Why would Iran and others not interfere? Why would Iraqis ever get another vote?
I am interested Ming. Will you argue a different outcome? Will you believe it at all, in any way? Or is it all just window dressing for the elephant of US hating in your front (al lobe) room?

Waterloo:
There seems to be an assumption that Iraq will descend into civil war if the US leaves. I wonder. It seems a convenient excuse to stay doesn't it ?
Perhaps the US is more afraid that there will be peace if they leave. Their record on judging the reaction of the Iraqi people is hardly the best is it ?

LOL Ming, but how can you call Iraq anything but a democracy then?
Representative democracy
Representative democracy involves the selection of government officials by a majority of votes by the people being represented. Representatives may be elected by a particular district (or constituency), or represent the electorate as a whole as in many proportional systems, with some using a combination of the two. Some representative democracies also incorporate and elements of direct democracy, such as referenda. A characteristic of representative democracy is that while the representatives are elected by the people, to act in their interest, they retain the freedom to exercise their own judgment as how best to do so.
That seems to describe the situation in Iraq.
Are you confusing democracy with peace? Of course you are.
Deliberately.
Malicously.
Nothing less than withdrawal and civil war will satisfy the western baby shakers

WS
Use of weapons
quite a good write up albeit missing out the meaning of the title which I was using to make the point. worth a read all the same
It is widely considered to be the best of the Culture novels[1], but also one of the least accessible due to its relatively complex structure. The Culture wrestles with its usual dilemma of whether or not to intervene in the affairs of other species.
As in Look to Windward and A Song of Stone, the main theme is the horror of war.
The book also includes, for the first time in a Banks novel, the possible beginning of another story. After the dénouement of Zakalwe's story, Diziet Sma visits a hospital in a less advanced civilisation. There she finds a heroic but crippled soldier and offers him renewed health and a job, presumably as a Culture mercenary. This section is entitled "States of War" and is labelled a prologue. As Banks has never announced any plans to write this story, it may be seen as adding a cyclical element to the story of Use of Weapons. As the central two strands of the novel cycle around to finish at essentially the same point, many readers find this circular interpretation appealing.
I think Banks is a genius. He is Scottish |

Waterloo,
Appearance should after all triumph over content in the many lands of mental illness.
Like an inmate in an asylum, you're convinced that all around you are mad, and you are sane.
Your posts speak for themselves. When it comes to foamy-mouthed rants, nobody does it better.

well Merlin, if the spelling is all you can comment on then why not.
Appearance should after all triumph over content in the many lands of mental illness.
I mean, look at Biff, Goel, Minger and yourself. Very different. All the same

Merlin,
Pleased to see Levy and Turner are about to be charged- Blair is next.
I think its customary when crooks leave office that they are pardoned by their successor.
I guess Blair will now try to claim diplomatic immunity?
I do hope however that the proceeds of crime act is used to recover the ill gotten gains from the Labour party coffers.

Pathetic answer.
Like talking to a child as usual.
You said they would be charged Merlin, I queried whether you had any basis for saying it. Clealry from your kindergarten reply you had no idea at all and just made it up as I thought
A bit like the Blair household earnings I think. Still, when huntin withches you gotta dunk em deep eh Merlin old chap?
